Your Calling

Now, don't let that pen lie still.
Pick it up! Let Jesus fill
Every corner of your mind with love divine.

He will teach you what to say,
Making it a better day.
For, obedience is a blessing any time!

It's a weapon, don't you see? ...
Given very tenderly
And it's power cannot be so plainly seen.

For, we write the words He gives.
But, He sends them where doubt lives
And awakens many hearts and distant dreams.

So, pick it up and, in your hand,
You'll find words to understand.
You'll be talking with the One Who loves us so.

Put a smile upon your face
And envision all His grace.
You've a job to do. Pick up your pen and go!

When we reach that Fairest Land
Where, at last, we understand
All the reasons for the paper and the pen ...

We'll discover someone there
Brought to Heaven by a prayer,
Uttered after someone read the words you lend.
