The Gospel (#6) Presented by Jesus

The Gospel (#6) Presented by Jesus
FORGIVENESS OF SINS

(Mat 1:21 KJV)
 And she shall bring forth a son,
and thou shalt call his name JESUS:
for he shall save his people from their sins.

(Isa 1:16-20 KJV)
Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes;
cease to do evil; {17} Learn to do well;
seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
{18} Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD:
though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
 though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
 {19} If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
{20} But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword:
 for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

9) JESUS TEACHES ABOUT HEAVEN AND HELL

Jesus will Save His People from their Sins

FORGIVENESS An act of God’s grace to forget forever and not hold people of faith accountable for sins they confess; to a lesser degree the gracious human act of not holding wrong acts against a person. It is the gracious act of God by which believers are put into a right relationship to God and transferred from spiritual death to spiritual life through the sacrifice of Jesus. It is also, in this divine dimension, the ongoing gift of God without which our lives as Christians would be depressing and full of guilt. In terms of a human dimension, forgiveness is that act and attitude toward those who have wronged us which restores relationships and fellowship.

OLD TESTAMENT TEACHINGS ABOUT  FORGIVENESS
FORGIVE (OT.) {HEB= TO LIFT}
(Psa 103:10-14 KJV)
 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
 {11} For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
 {12} As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
{13} Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
 {14} For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

(Psa 25:10-18 KJV)
 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
{11} For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
{12} What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
 {13} His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
 {14} The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.
{15} Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
{16} Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
 {17} The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
{18} Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

(Isa 43:25-26 KJV)
  I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake,
and will not remember thy sins.
 {26} Put me in remembrance: let us plead together:
declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

(Jer 31:33-34 KJV)
 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel;
 After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts;
and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
{34} And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying,
Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD:
 for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

(Micah 7:18-19 KJV)
Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity,
and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage?
he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
{19} He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us;
he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

(Isa 45:21-22 KJV)
 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together:
who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time?
 have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me;
 a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
{22} Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth:
for I am God, and there is none else.

(Ezek 36:24-27 KJV)
 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries,
and will bring you into your own land.
 {25} Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean:
 from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
 {26} A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you:
and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
{27} And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes,
and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

(Dan 9:24 KJV)
Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city,
to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity,
 and to bring in everlasting righteousness,
and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

JESUS  FORGIVES SINS AS HE HEALS THE PEOPLE IN THE GOSPELS
FORGIVENESS (NT.)  {GRK= FREEDOM, PARDON}
(Mat 3:5-6 KJV)
Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
{6} And were baptized of him{JOHN THE BAPTIST} in Jordan, confessing their sins.

(Mat 9:2 KJV)
And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed:
 and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy;
 Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.

(Mat 9:5-6 KJV)
 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
 {6} But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins,
(then saith he to the sick of the palsy,)
Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.

(Mat 26:28-29 KJV)
 For this is my blood of the new testament,
 which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
{29} But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine,
until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

(Mark 1:4-5 KJV)
John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
{5} And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem,
and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan,
confessing their sins.

(Mark 2:5-7 KJV)
When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy,
Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
{6} But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
 {7} Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies?
 who can forgive sins but God only?

(Mark 2:9-11 KJV)
 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee;
or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
{10} But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins,
 (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) {11} I say unto thee,
 Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.

(Mark 3:28-29 KJV)
  Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men,
and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
{29} But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness,
but is in danger of eternal damnation:

(Mark 4:11-12 KJV)
 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God:
 but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
 {12} That seeing they may see, and not perceive;
and hearing they may hear, and not understand;
lest at any time they should be converted,
and their sins should be forgiven them.

(Luke 1:76-78 KJV)
  And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest:
 for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
 {77} To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
{78} Through the tender mercy of our God;
whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,

(Luke 3:3-4 KJV)
 And he came into all the country about Jordan,
 preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;
{4} As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying,
The voice of one crying in the wilderness,
Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

(Luke 5:20-24 KJV)
And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.
{21} And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying,
Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?
{22} But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them,
What reason ye in your hearts?
 {23} Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?
 {24} But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins,
(he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.
(Luke 7:47-48 KJV)
Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven;
for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
{48} And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

(Luke 7:49-50 KJV)
And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves,
 Who is this that forgiveth sins also?
 {50} And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

(Luke 11:2-4 KJV)
 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say,
 Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
 {3} Give us day by day our daily bread.
{4} And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us.
 And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

(Luke 24:46-48 KJV)
  And said unto them,
Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer,
 and to rise from the dead the third day:
 {47} And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached
 in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
{48} And ye are witnesses of these things.

 (John 1:29 KJV)
 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith,
 Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

(John 8:21 KJV)
 Then said Jesus again unto them,
 I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins:
whither I go, ye cannot come.

(John 8:23-24 KJV)
 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above:
ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
 {24} I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins:
 for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

(John 20:22-23 KJV)
 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them,
Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
 {23} Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them;
and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
